2009 – looking back

And I am back with another post after a long gap. No photographs this time; rather, a short video showcasing a few of my favorites from 2009. So put on your headphones or switch on your speakers and enjoy the show!

I-Rock 2009 – MotherJane

It was raining and I had an umbrella, but it wasn’t June – October rather, the 4th. I was at Chitrakoot Grounds in Andheri, Mumbai, to shoot MotherJane (again), the headlining act for Independence Rock XXIV. I had written about the band in one of my earlier posts. So this time, its just the pictures and nothing else.

Nonstop rains, umbrella in one hand, my camera in the other, and my backpack on my back (where else?) – not the best of situations to shoot, and I was really worried about water entering my lens or the camera. A few drops managed to despite all the precautions, but thankfully, no calamities! I was a soaked stinking mess by the end of the show, but it was all worth it thanks to their music! :)

The Works

And that’s another Mumbai-based rock band formed by Mihir, a radio jockey by profession and a brilliant singer. You can check out the band’s official website if you want to know more about them. The photos below are from their gig at Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai, and as ever, I had a wonderful time. I was not quite well that day, and I told Mihir I will cover their first few songs and then head home. But the music was so awesome that I ended up staying till the very end! And its not every day that you get to see a guitarist (read: Shannon) play a Joe Satriani song with so much ease and perfection! Good luck guys with all your future plans! And oh, the band was joined by Manasi Scott as a guest artiste. :)
